An individual's power to think is often doubted. Firstly by themselves. This produces verbal statements like, "I am not that smart!" or "I don't know." These statements are not true, yet many go through their whole lives believing them, applying them, living them. What is actually occurring is your reference point something, in this case, knowledge, is not aligned. "I don't know!" is the most ancient cry for learning, education and knowledge. Not being able to say you know something in front of others makes you seem 'stupid'. This sets you up to being pushed out of the 'herd'. The danger in evolutionary terms is you are not able to reproduce and "the species" will die out. The ancient bridge to acceptance became either, "I am not smart, or I don't know." Education opens the door to learning and knowledge. Travel is the antidote of ignorance. The Alpha Potential uses tools which allow you to retrain your brain to think. Yes! You can learn to think. Think better, more creatively and think faster. The Ten Things List is a tool to strengthen the connections between areas of your brain. We use it to teach you to think.

Are You The Only Person Who Feels Like This?

During your up bringing, neural efficiency ensures anything that you do not constantly use is re used for those things that interest you. Sports people for example, learn movement patterns that allow them to perfect skills which make them team or world champions. Other movement pathways throughout their body which are not required for their chosen sport skills are re absorbed to minimise energy consumption. This optimisation of energy maximises the bodies ability to be successful in the area of focus. See this in action when a football team plays tennis, tennis players learn dance or gymnastics, or a rugby team starts a swimming session. Quite simply they are generally terrible!

Take Responsibility for How You Think

Recently one of our clients began the "10 Things Lists" and recorded his version on his blog site. Head over to A Stuntman's Guide to learn how the application of a very simple process strengthens your neural connections. It has some terrific side effects also. In just 10 days you will have 100 ideas. In 100 days, you will have 1,000 ideas about all sorts of things. Your brain's co-lateral and fore to hindbrain connections will physically change. Statistically, if you record 1,000 ideas, you will have at least 3 things that are worth developing into something for the future. Try to replace it with, "I haven't learned it yet", or "I will find out!" Juggling work, family, friends, health and spirituality to be present If we view life as a game where we are juggling the five balls of work, family, health, friends and spirituality. It is easy to understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. Any damage or breakage is irreversible. For this reason we must strive to attain balance in our lives.
